The narrative of a sensory dialogue that originates in the philosophy of touch and materializes in artistic form. "The Fields of transformation" is a cross-cultural exhibition uniting the works of three distinct artists: Jovana Tucović, Tejka Pezdirc, and Akiko Koga. The concept challenges the dominance of the "visual" in our screen-saturated era, drawing on the Japanese distinction between physical touch (savaru) and the emotional touch of the inner being (fureru). The challenge was to create a visual identity for a project that explicitly critiques the limitations of sight.
We crafted a visual system rooted in texture and restraint. Recognizing that the artworks - ranging from epoxy resin sculptures to stone and photography - speak their own complex languages, the identity acts as a subtle, unifying framework. We utilized typography and layout to evoke a sense of tactility on a 2D surface, balancing the organic fluidity of the human body with the structural precision of the gallery space. The design doesn't shout; it invites the viewer to look closer, bridging the gap between the eye and the hand.
In the exhibition space, the identity serves as a quiet guide through the dialogue of these three women. From the exhibition catalog to the environmental graphics, every element is calibrated to support, rather than overpower, the "The Fields of transformation." The result is a cohesive cultural experience that honors the vulnerability of the human body and the profound necessity of physical presence in a digital world.
